Tahini stuffed dates
I made this recipe as part of my Veganuary food guide, where I shared with my Instagram community five staple ingredients that you will always find in my pantry.
One of this is tahini, and I left it last as I wanted to end on a sweet note by sharing these tahini-stuffed dates.
Some of us are familiar with tahini, some others are not. Very briefly, tahini is a paste made with ground hulled sesame seeds and it's extremely versatile.
You can use it for savoury recipes, like my Creamy cabbage , it goes well with fresh fruit and anything sweet and, let's not forget that it's one of the main ingredients to make hummus.

INGREDIENTS:
15 pitted dates
10 tsp tahini
70g extra dark chocolate
Crushed hazelnuts
INSTRUCTIONS:
Let’s start by melting the dark chocolate at bain-marie.
Fill each date with about ½ or 1 tsp of tahini, then coat it with dark chocolate and sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts.
Place them in the fridge for 30 minutes then… Enjoy!
*For the filling you can use other nut butters, like peanut, almond or cashew instead of tahini.
For the topping, you can use pistachios, almonds or shredded coconut.
